The orchestra which had accompanied not less than ten finalists in the Emil Gilels Competition in Odessa (ukr) had done this magnificently, but it had also been very hard work for them.

The conductor takes a moment to explain this to the audience, and later, the concert master (an excellent musician) also came to the jury room, to talk with the organisers and the jury to underline the importance of agreeable working conditions.
