In 2016, AAF offered financial support to the following competitions

To arrive at this selection, the following procedure was followed

At the end of 2015, there were 159 AAF member competitions and organisations.
Between 2009 and 2015, 66 competitions had already received AAF's offer of support.

A new set of rules and conditions was prepared. Instead of asking Mr. Rang to make another random selection, it was decided by the AAF Board to choose the competitions, taking place in 2016, to offer AAF's support for organising a special reception for all the participants. An important consideration was that the event should be meaningful and that it could be anticipated that an AAF representative would be able to attend.

Attention was also paid to avoid that the same competition was offered the AAF Award as well as AAF's support for a reception.
